BROADWAY STAR FRIEDMAN HAD CANCER

She is the lead role in the Broadway musical “The Woman in White”, Maria Friedman. Maria also just was diagnosed with breast cancer. Five days after she found the lump in her breast was opening night. Five days ago she discovered the lump went to get a mammogram and had surgery three days later. Maria is now cancer-free and ready for the grand opening, with her doctor sitting in the audience. He was there to take care of her dressings. Maria’s sister is the producer Sonia Friedman and wasn’t sure if she should pose-pone the show until Maria recovered completely. Maria said “no way, the show must go on”. Two days later Maria was on stage performing everything her leading role called for. Maria was not trying to be a heroine or anything she was doing this for herself and for her sister. Sonia put all her time and effort into this production. Anyway, what was Maria suppose to do sit around and mope? No, Maria is a fighter and lives life to the fullest regardless of what a person is going through.
