HURRICANE WILMA RUINED DEPECHE MODE'S PLANS

Depeche Mode had to change plans for their opening night.

Depeche Mode's grand opening for their U.S. tour was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was canceled due to hurricane Wilma. When Wilma hit Fort Lauderdale last week it knocked out power and that resulted curfews, according to BBC News. So, instead of starting their tour in Fort Lauderdale it will be in St. Petersburg, Florida, tomorrow night. Depeche Mode's last tour was back in 2001. Hurricane Wilma left millions without power when it hit last Monday. It swept across Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Most of the power outages are restored however there is still a big mess of trees and telephone poles. Depeche Mode's manager commented that the band was very excited about starting their tour in South Florida but they did not want to put their fans in any danger either. All the fans that are unable to catch the show in St. Petersburg tomorrow night will be refunded.
