TRIBUTE FROM CAMERON CROWE

Director Cameron Crowe speaks about his films.

Director Cameron Crowe pays tribute of different aspects in his life through his movies. "Elizabethtown" is his latest baby. It is a tale woven about love and loss and what holds each and every one of us together: family. Of course something terrible has to happen before the lesson is learned but that is what life is made up of, sorrows and triumphs. This film contributes that life will have happiness as long as you are open to learning how to create that happiness. Crowe's movies are usually twisted, changing and a little offbeat. He wants to keep his viewers on their toes. For instance, "Vanilla Sky" was a dark fantasy. The main character (Tom Cruise) fantasizes about killing his girlfriend. When Crowe was creating "Elizabethtown" the story quickly unraveled. Crowe feels this film is one of his best. It is very much heart. Critics have thought otherwise. The ratings were harsh because there are scenes that are rough edged. Is Crowe worried about "Elizabethtown" not becoming a hit at the box office? No, he has faith because he knows this movie is a gem.
