About Laura Linney's character and new movie.
You might have heard of Laura Linney because she has been nominated at least twice for an Oscar and has been in about 30 films but her name is not a cover name like Julia Roberts. Laura is still an amazing actress that brings something special to every film she acts in. Her uniqueness is when a director chooses her to take role in his/her movie; other actors want to join the cast because of her. Laura has the sort of personality that makes the film fun and interesting. Linney gravitates towards roles that represent strong characters but in her world she is lively and sweet, young 41 year old. Directors and producers love working with Linney because she is a team player but very easy to work with—no demands like a lot of top actors. Laura is a true artist. She grew with a father as a play-writer. She learned about words and how lesser words are better in acting. So her usual request when she takes roles is fewer lines in her script. She feels it not necessary to tell everything, leave room for the imagination. Linney’s newest film is “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” it is about a young German woman that is possessed by demons. Two priests try to help Emily Rose get rid of the demons and one point perform exorcism rites and Emily Rose dies. The priests are put on trial because helping her. The attorney that defends the priest is Linney. This movie is very realistic and frightful. Linney says studying and learning about exorcism was an incredible experience. She continues to say that there are real people out there that experience exorcism and that is very scary. Laura Linney can take a role and bring incredible depth to her character and the entire production; it does matter if her role is little or big. She looks forward to more roles that will bring more challenges. She does not worry about getting the next job, just takes it in stride.
