IS GRETCHEN WILSON PROMOTING SMOKELESS TOBACCO?

Gretchen Wilson country singer 's song "Skoal Ring" is almost advertising for smokeless tobacco

Gretchen Wilson sings the hit song “Redneck Woman” and her new song “Skoal Ring”. Skoal Ring is receiving too much attention because of the smokeless tobacco. There was a controversy about advertising tobacco products to the public in 1998 so now its band. Has Gretchen violated her right to perform with the smokeless tobacco product? Wilson even sells T-shirts with the picture of her and the Skoal Ring product. Most concerts teens go and buy the products. Artists need to watch what they are promoting and selling to these young people. The song “Skoal Ring” refers to having a can of smokeless tobacco indented in a person’s pocket. The tobacco settlement ended at $206 billion dollars that companies were forbidden to advertise their smoking products. The U.S. Smokeless Tobacco company, which makes Skoal, signed on to the tobacco settlement and agreed not to sponsor concerts under any brand names or enter into any sort of agreement with an artist to display or make reference to their products. The Skoal Company does not have an agreement with Wilson or any other artists.
