HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH ARE FEELING LUCKY
Hootie & the Blowfish new song "One Love".
Hootie or Darius Rucker is tired from singing but no complaints from him after releasing his newest song “Looking for Lucky”. Hootie & the Blowfish new single “One Love” made the bands twelfth for the Adult Top 40 and Adult Contemporary charts. Hootie’s very happy. In the past few years with Atlantic nothing was moving so we were not expecting much with this release. “One Love” with its beautiful lyrics and acoustic guitar, is completely Hootie. Sneaky Long Records, Vanguard Records and Hootie came together as a multi-record joint to release the album. Hootie & the Blowfish own the label and Vanguard takes care of the distribution, marketing and publicity, according to MSN music news. Before they were with Atlantic Records in the late 90’s and early 2000. Then the group wanted something more and something different from their label. Vanguard Records were a smaller company so they did not have the pressure like Atlantic records. Vanguard Records have been promoting records for a long time. They don’t expect every song to be the top on the charts. Since Hootie & the Blowfish have joined forces with Vanguard records they been open to trying new things. For example they are working outside of the band and using other songwriters. Darius Rucker and his band have been writing their own songs for 20 years, so they thought “why not” and use outside writers. The group is back to touring and promoting their new release. Their newest marketing gimmick is putting on concerts at Wal-Marts across the Southeast. According to MSN Music News, Vanguard has tied in with Dr. Pepper for the Wal-Mart promotion, with soft-drink company kicking in the advertising and promotion dollars for the show. Hootie & the Blowfish feel awesome. Things are looking very “lucky” for this group and their new album.
