Garth is going to sell his music exclusively through Wal-Mart.
Country superstar Garth Brooks, made deal with Wal-Mart. Brooks is going to exclusively sell his albums to the biggest chain store in America. More and more chain franchise stores are signing up stars to sell their music exclusively. Brooks (43), is one of the top country singers in the 90’s, his music is a mixture of country and pop. He is one of highest selling artist of all time. Garth has sold over 105 million copies, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Just past June, Brooks ended his licensing agreement with EMI Group’s Capital Nashville label after 16 years. (Source: NY Daily Times) Brooks owns most of his master recordings, this allows him to sell wherever he wants. In June, Brooks performed at Wal-Mart’s annual conference. The CEO of Wal-Mart is hoping by signing on Garth Brooks to sell only to them, this will then bring more high-income shoppers.
