ROWE UNDECIDED ABOUT CUSTODY FIGHT

MICHAEL JACKSON's ex-wife DEBBIE ROWE is undecided whether to launch a custody bid for her two children with the King Of Pop, according to her lawyer.

Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr. aka 'Prince,' Prince Michael Jackson II aka 'Blanket' and Michael Jackson goes shopping at Off The Wall Antiques. Los Angeles, California - 27.04.09

Rowe, who is the biological mother of Jackson's two eldest kids, Prince Michael and Paris, told a local California TV news reporter on Thursday (02Jul09) she plans to fight for custody of her children, stating: "I want my kids."

The two youngsters, as well as their younger brother Prince 'Blanket' Michael II, are currently in the care of their paternal grandmother Katherine after she was granted temporary guardianship earlier this week (begs29Jun09).

A longterm decision about their future will be made in a court hearing next week (06Jul09) - but Rowe's lawyer Eric M. George insists his client has not made a final decision regarding the custody of her children.

He says, "Debbie Rowe has not reached a final decision concerning the custody proceedings.

"As many of you know, my belief is that the pending custody proceedings are the most private and the most sensitive of matters as they impact the lives and the fates of young children.

"To that end, I've endeavoured out of respect for Michael's children and family, especially in this time of grieving, to keep silence on these matters, to deny all interview requests and to share only that information involving upcoming public court proceedings."

And George has slammed media outlets for picking up on Rowe's comment, claiming it was a "distortion of the truth".

He adds, "I have no reason to doubt that what was reported from that conversation was accurately and ethically reported, but that said, it would be a distortion of the truth to allow that single snapshot of a single conversation, to stand as the truth on Debbie's position on this sensitive matter.

"Once again, the truth is that Debbie has not reached a final decision concerning the pending custody proceedings.

"When Debbie does take a position in the public forum of a court, those positions will, of course, be conveyed to all interested persons. In the meantime, I very much appreciate everybody's continued respect for Debbie's privacy at this time."

Jackson died after suffering a cardiac arrest last week (25Jun09).

MAY DEVASTATED BY LEAKED JACKSON & MERCURY TRACKS

BRIAN MAY is furious after 'music thieves' exploited MICHAEL JACKSON's death by releasing previously unheard tracks by the King Of Pop and QUEEN's late frontman FREDDIE MERCURY on the Internet.

Brian May of Queen performing live at Liverpool Echo Arena. Liverpool, England - 18.10.08

Jackson, who passed away last week (25Jun09), and Mercury worked together in the 1980s on a number of tracks that have never been heard by the public.

May revealed the existence of the songs earlier this week (begs29Jun09), saying, 'He (Jackson) used to come and see us when we were on tour in the States. He and Freddie became close friends, close enough to record a couple of tracks together at Michael's house, tracks which have never seen the light of day.'

But the rocker has been left incensed after two tunes by the pair, State Of Shock and There Must Be More To Life Than This, ended up on video sharing website YouTube.com.

He fumes, "The music thieves at work as usual."

MICHAEL JACKSON has left almost half of his assets to his three children, according to new reports.

The King Of Pop insisted that 40 per cent of his estate goes to his kids, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II 'Blanket', seven.

A further 40 per cent of his trust goes to his mother Katherine, according to TMZ.com.

The remaining 20 per cent will allegedly go to a number of as-yet-undecided children's charities.

Katherine Jackson currently has temporary control of her late son's estate - as well as guardianship of her three grandchildren. A hearing on Jackson's estate will go ahead on Monday morning (06Jul09) in Los Angeles.

KOOKS CAUGHT IN MID-AIR PLANE DRAMA

THE KOOKS were left fearing for their lives on Thursday (02Jul09) when their plane was struck by lightning.

Luke Pritchard of The Kooks performing at the Heineken Music hall. Amsterdam, Holland - 25.11.08

The rockers were jetting from Munich, Germany, to Warsaw in Poland when their aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing when a lightning bolt hit the plane just ten-minutes after take-off.

And the terrifying ordeal has left the band spooked.

Frontman Luke Pritchard tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, 'There was a loud crash, like someone had smashed plates, and everyone was jolted. I saw the lightning hit the side of the plane. Scary stuff, man.'

But the incident hasn't put the group off flying for good - the foursome caught a later flight to Warsaw.

PHOTOGRAPHER: 'JACKSON LOOKED GREAT IN REHEARSALS'

MICHAEL JACKSON's official photographer KEVIN MAZUR has dismissed reports the King of Pop was frail and struggling in the days before his death, insisting the singer was 'full of energy' during dress rehearsals he shot at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Michael Jackson speaking at the press conference and tour announcement held at the O2 Arena.
London, England - 05.03.09

Mazur was hired by the promoters behind Jackson's planned This Is It comeback shows in London to document the rehearsals, and the snapper claims his old friend was in fine form.

The celebrity photographer says, "He looked like the same old Michael Jackson I'd photographed through the years. He was full of energy, having fun, very upbeat, totally into it. He was going toe-to-toe with 20-year-old dancers.

"He ran through 12 songs (and) the only time he stopped... was to tweak the music or work on the choreography.

"I was so excited and I couldn't wait to see this full production in the 02 Arena (in London) with the fans."

Mazur left the rehearsals two days before Jackson's death last week (25Jun09) so he could cover Sir Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Charity Ball in England.

It was while he was there that Elton told him the King of Pop had died.

The snapper adds, "I was shocked... I just got done telling Elton how great he (Jackson) was."

A minute's worth of footage from the rehearsals has been released to news agencies by promoters AEG Live. The video shows Jackson performing with his dancers and singing They Don't Care About Us live. He appears thin but in fine form and good voice. There's no indication the star was days away from death.

'THE REAL THING' FROM VANESSA WILLIAMS

In support of her new album 'The Real Thing', Vanessa Williams has released her second video 'Close to You'.
Partially produced by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, The Real Thing features songs be Stevie Wonder and Bebel Gilberto, among others!

image hosted by SuperPhotoSpace.com

Internationally-renowned singer and actress Vanessa Williams will release her thirteenth album and debut for Concord Records entitled THE REAL THING, on June 2nd, 2009. The collection marks a return to her love for the rhythms of jazz and Latin music, a key part of her musical roots. In addition, THE REAL THING delves into the sophisticated pop and R&B that have been the hallmark of her dynamic musical career.

THE REAL THING is a passionate song cycle about relationships, and Williams hand-picked each song on the record as it relates to a phase of the modern-day love affair seen from a woman’s perspective. From the two new songs penned for the CD by Babyface (“Loving You” and “Just Friends”) to “Hello Like Before” by Bill Withers (Williams’ late father’s favorite artist) to Stevie Wonder’s “The Real Thing” to Bebel Gilberto’s “Close To You,” THE REAL THING taps into the wide breadth of Williams’ musicality and artistry.

“After playing a power-hungry character like Wilhelmina Slater on “Ugly Betty” on a soundstage for three seasons, it was a pleasure to step back into the recording studio and be myself behind the microphone,” stated Ms. Williams. “The familiarity and comfort of making music is always a joy to come home to. It was especially a treat to sing Phil Galdston's "I Fell In.” Our biggest hit together was "Save the Best for Last.”

“Vanessa Williams in an artist of rare talent, depth and creativity,” states Concord Music Group executive vice-president of A&R, John Burk. “In this album she explores her musical range and influences perhaps more so than ever before. We couldn’t be more proud to have her as a member of the Concord family.”

With a career spanning over 20 years, Williams is the consummate performer. From her chart-topping pop star music career, to her Emmy-nominated role on “Ugly Betty” and her upcoming co-starring performance in the feature film “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” Vanessa Williams remains one of the industry’s most, versatile and accomplished artists. She has appeared in numerous films including “Soul Food,” “Eraser,” “The Pick-Up Artist” and “Shaft,” and has numerous television credits to her name as well as critically-acclaimed performances on Broadway in “Kiss Of The Spider Woman” and “Into The Woods,” which garnered her a Tony nomination.

Since the release of her first studio album, 1988’s The Right Stuff, Williams has garnered a total of 16 Grammy nominations, released seven albums of original material, as well as four compilations and two holiday-themed albums, selling millions of albums world-wide. She was nominated for yet another Grammy for her hit single, “Colors of the Wind,” from Disney’s “Pocahontas,” which went on to win an Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy for “Best Song In A Motion Picture.” THE REAL THING is her first studio album since 2005’s Everlasting Love.

Vanessa Williams’ charitable contributions are many and varied, embracing and supporting such issues as education, homelessness, abuse, women’s issues and health concerns, AIDS and anything having to do with children. She is also well-known for her outspoken support of gay rights, having won the Human Rights Campaign "Ally for Equality" award in 2008. She is on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics, as well as the Board or Advisors for the Westchester Children’s Museum and supports numerous other charitable and humanitarian organizations.

SHRINK'S 'HERE' MUSIC VIDEO

New music video for the upcoming Kevin Spacey film SHRINK. The music video features footage from the film in addition to footage of Jackson Browne performing an original song, 'Here', from the motion picture soundtrack.

image hosted by SuperPhotoSpace.com

Director: Jonas Pate
Cast: Kevin Spacey, Robert Loggia, Pell James, Keke Palmer, Griffin Dunne, Saffron Burrows, Jack Huston, Dallas Roberts, Gore Vidal, Laura Ramsey
Synopsis: What happens when the people we count on to hold us together…are barely holding it together themselves? Jonas Pate's Shrink is a striking, fast-paced exposé of the “other” Hollywood , featuring folks living outside their comfort zone and the people who put them there. Henry Carter (Kevin Spacey) is a psychiatrist with an A-list clientele, including a once-famous actress (Saffron Burrows), an insecure young writer (Mark Webber), and a comically obsessive-compulsive superagent (Dallas Roberts). Henry is not in a good place, however. He has been asked to take his first pro bono case, a troubled teenage girl from a neighborhood far from the Hollywood hills. Considering his present state of mind, is he ready for the real-life troubles of a young woman who loves the world of movies he has become so jaded by? At its core, Shrink is a study of control and our endless need for it, even when it grows increasingly impossible to obtain. Writer Thomas Moffett uses classic archetypes in this modern Hollywood tale, but never pushes them over the edge of credibility. Performed by a well-matched cast at the top of their form, the result is both satisfying and exhilarating. Watching Shrink makes us feel like voyeurs looking through a window into the lives of people who look great, feel worse, and end up behaving badly.

The Music Video:
Roadside Attractions have announced the release of the new music video for the upcoming Kevin Spacey film SHRINK. The music video features footage from the film in addition to footage of Jackson Browne performing an original song, “Here”, from the motion picture soundtrack.

JACKSON'S MOTHER GETS ANOTHER WEEK AS GRANDCHILDREN'S GUARDIAN

MICHAEL JACKSON's mother has been given another week as guardian of her late son's three children.

Michael Jackson's children Prince Michael, Prince Michaell II and Paris leaving Tom's Toys after going on a shopping spree with their father. Los Angeles, California -15.05.09

Despite new reports suggesting the King of Pop's ex-wife Debbie Rowe plans to fight for custody of her two children with Jackson, Prince Michael and Paris, the singer's mother, Katherine, will remain the sole guardian of them and their brother Prince Michael II until a court hearing decides their future on 13 July (09).

In his newly-filed will the late pop superstar named his mother as his children's guardian in the event of his death, but Rowe plans to contest that - and will be in court to challenge the Jacksons for custody.

Her former attorney, Iris Finsilver, tells People.com, "She is going to be pursuing custody of the children.

"Frankly, she won't have to fight for them. She is the children's biological mother. She loves her children."

Katherine Jackson has also been awarded temporary control of her late son's estate. A hearing on that will go ahead on Monday morning (06Jul09) in Los Angeles, as planned.

U2 FACE FINE OVER TOUR

Irish rockers U2 are facing a hefty fine for breaching noise regulations during rehearsals in Spain for their world tour.

Construction takes place on the gigantic stage for U2's 360 degrees tour which opens in the Nou Camp on 2nd July 2009. Barcelona, Spain - 12.06.09

The band kicked off their global trek in Barcelona on Tuesday (30Jun09), but spent days rehearsing there beforehand.

A city resident complained about the excessive noise after the rockers played longer than agreed by local officials.

Bono and his bandmates were allowed to practice until 10pm at the Camp Nou stadium - but on one occasion they rehearsed until midnight, according to a local newspaper.

They face a fine of 15,000 Euros (US$21,000/£12,800) under noise pollution laws.

Local businessman Alfons Huescar says, "While business outlets cash in on fans flooding in, residents can't even open their windows at home."

RIHANNA IN TROUBLE FOR ILLEGAL TATTOOING

RIHANNA has caused an ink stink in New York after she was caught moonlighting as a tattoo artist.

Rihanna arrives at her hotel wearing loose blouse, denim shorts and white flat shoes.
New York City, USA - 29.06.09

The singer was spotted wielding a needle in Manhattan parlour East Side Ink on Wednesday night (01Jul09), and website TMZ.com reports that she etched umbrella designs and the letter R on three resident artists.

The session could end up costing her dear, because tattooists need a license to hold a needle in New York.

Lawmakers tell the website Rihanna could be fined almost $2,000 (GBP1,300) for the three misdemeanour offences.

A New York City Health Department Spokesperson says, "Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City's Health Code. We are sending someone down to follow up on this."

BAY HITS BACK AT 'RIDICULOUS' FOX

MEGAN FOX has been dubbed 'ridiculous' by her TRANSFORMERS 2 director MICHAEL BAY, after she slammed the movie in an interview.

Michael Bay at 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' party held at LIV nightclub. Miami Beach, Florida - 27.06.09 (Photo by: Johnny Louis/WENN)

Fox took a swipe at the sequel in a new interview, describing it as "not a movie about acting".

She told Entertainment Weekly, "I mean, I can't s**t on this movie because it did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don't want to blow smoke up people's a**. People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting."

Bay has laughed off the comments, but claims Fox "has growing to do".

He says, "Well, that's Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she's 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do."

BayNic Cage wasn't a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck before I put him in Armageddon. Shia LaBeouf wasn't a big movie star before he did Transformers - and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from Bad Boys.

"Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in Transformers. I like to think that I've had some luck in building actors' careers with my films."

LIGHTS TO DIM ON BROADWAY FOR MALDEN

The lights of New York's theatre district will be dimmed on Thursday night (02Jul09) to honour Oscar winner KARL MALDEN, who died on Wednesday (01Jul09).

Karl Malden at the 10th Annual Tony Awards Bash: An Actor's Fund Special Event Honoring Liza Minnelli held at the Skirball Center. Los Angeles, California - 11.06.06

The 97 year old had a long affiliation with the Broadway stage - he made his Big Apple stage debut in 1937 and struck up a theatrical partnership with legendary director Elia Kazan, who cast Malden in a host of successful New York shows.

Malden starred in more than 20 productions, including Arthur Miller's All My Sons and Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire opposite Marlon Brando.

And now Broadway bosses are to pay their last respects to the late star.

Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of The Broadway League, says, "Karl Malden's performances in some of Broadway's most legendary original productions in the 1930s, '40s and '50s showcased his talent and set a standard for excellence on stage.

"He made a lasting impact on Broadway and in other mediums throughout his career that will continue to live on."

The actor has been in the U.K. capital this week (beg29Jun09) to promote new movie Public Enemies, and took time out from his busy schedule to visit Great Ormond Street Hospital to cheer up young patients.

Dressed as his Pirates Of The Caribbean character Captain Jack Sparrow, he visited several wards - including the one his daughter Lily-Rose stayed in when she was treated for kidney failure in 2007.

A source tells WENN, "Johnny was so friendly with all the children on the ward and they absolutely loved his pirate outfit.

"He spoke to lots of the youngsters and staff - and made their day by posing for pictures with them all."

The generous star has previously donated $1.5 million (£1 million) to the hospital to thank them for looking after his 10-year-old daughter during her health scare.
